Emelina begins to stir after a good nap.
Fully awake, she calmly checks out her surroundings.
For being three days old she seems remarkably alert a times. Of course most of the time she’s half or fully asleep. Somehow she has managed to suck the sleep right out of Jill and I…wizard at work.

She’s been sleeping better and is also becoming more and more aware of her surroundings. She’ll actually calmly look around a bit between naps, crying and feeding. The jurry is still out on her eye color.
She wishes her clothes fit better.

Desolation Sound, BC

Jill and I went kayaking up in Desolation Sound about a month ago in mid September. It was a fantastic trip, the weather was gorgeous, and we can’t wait to get back. Here are a bunch of photos from the trip; some of the most memorable ones are found near the middle of the slideshow. Enjoy!
Goat Rocks Wilderness

My dad and I went for a 3-night hike in the Goat Rocks Wilderness area in Washington a few weeks ago. We encountered all kinds of weather; rain, snow, sun and wind, and had a great time. The views up there are some of the best in the west, or the nation for that matter. Click on the image for the entire slide show. Enjoy!
